![]() As I told earlier, I installed MacOS from scratch many times.ĭo the items appear in a smart album with the rule "Photo is referenced"? Or is the problem, that Photos is ignoring the Preferences not to copy theorems into the library? If Photos importing the photos as managed, in spite of the preferences setting not to copy the files, do not import directly from the device, but from a locally mounted external drive. It imports some files with only link to them, others whole picture goes to archive. The problem begins with importing from external source. Then I miss the pictures from earlier of course) My solution: I transfer all my photos and videos to my computer, sort them with exifrenamer on external drive and delete all iCloud photos files once a month. I missed a terminal command for that since Catalina update. My theory is: Somehow the setting (Don't import files-dont sent them to iCloud ) setting doesn't work (On me and on some people). I also don't want Nikon raw files on my iPhones and iPads. They go to iCloud and come back as real files. The photos which appear on iCloud and on my iPhone are now on photos archive, where they had to be only linked files not true files. Meanwhile photo publishing (photos/option/iCloud/publishing for 30 days) is unset. These photos go directly internet I don't know how. When I import photos AFTER I import new photos from external directory. Photos are going from my iPhone to my computer, and to every device I have. So my iPhone and iPad have nothing on photos albums. I downloaded all of them and zeroed iCloud. I open iCloud option from options in photos. I import all the pictures from external reference directory. Second type are pictures and videos, which I transfer from my camera to my external hard disk, then imported from this external hard disk (of course with "don't import files to archive" option, in order not to double the pictures on my hard disk. They are intended to come directly from iCloud back to my computer at home. One is my iPhones iCloud transported pictures taken by me. So the problem persists (on Catalina and Bigsur too). This week I have found my old photos from 2016 and imported them appropriately again, according to all rules for not to transfer to iCloud but again for the x th time it began to upload and I write here onto another fresh topic. Then it begins again to uploading everywhere. It lasts until I import any photo from my Nikon camera or any other source to my main album (of course with "don't import photos to library" set to off). #Exifrenamer mac os x archiveAt the end (since this January) I decided to delete all the photos from my iPhone and begin "iclouding" with zero photos on my iPhone, deleting all the unreferenced photos from my archive and exporting them to external raid archive and import them as referenced photos to calm my iCloud business. I have done all the appropriate measures you suggested for many many times. I share here my frustration which was not corrected since 2 years. Off course I made a commitement to the developers. ![]()
